Back in bham...

For the night!

I have been back & forth between Atlanta and Birmingham 4 times in the last 5 days! Whew! Busy Christmas break so far but it has been fabulous!

I'm on the road again tomorrow...we are headed to the Smokey Mountains with Ty's family! I am so excited.

Ty and I went last year just the two of us and it was so fun. I am excited to go back to the places we found and explored last year together. Also excited to spend some time with his family! Hoping it snows a little while we are up there too!

When I got back tonight Ty and Emma came over and Emma was being extra clingy to mommy...

I had to unpack and repack and she was in my face the. whole. time.

Not that I'm complaining ;) love my sweet girl!

Our Christmas Morning

I laughed a little at myself last night for not being able to sleep on Christmas Eve as a 25 year old. ;)

I finally drifted to sleep around 3am and woke up around 10 when my sister Anna, Chris, and baby Hagen arrived!

I got my Christmas morning snuggles in :)

We ate breakfast and then settled in to the living room to open presents.

My main gift from "Santa" was my laptop, so my pile was much smaller than everyone else's. It included new pjs, 2 new purses, some socks, bath stuff, and a new make up bag. :)

After everyone opened presents, we sat around watching Santa Clause 2 and I got to snuggle baby Hagen again before he left to go see his other grandparents. You might call me the "baby hog".

Hagen LOVES to snuggle like this. He hides his face on my shoulder/neck and falls right asleep. Ohhh I could just eat him up!!

After Anna, Chris, and Hagen left, we started watching Anne of Green Gables, an Alfano tradition on Christmas Day. :)

I also started making another breakfast dish for the fam to enjoy. It was a huge hit!

Cinnamon French Toast Bake
Thanks Pinterest!!!!
(I will post recipe tomorrow)

I have also been playing around on my new Kindle Fire HD that Ty got me for Christmas (not sure if I mentioned that in the last post). I bought my first book...but couldn't figure out how to buy it on the Kindle so I bought it on the laptop and it transferred it right to my Kindle - so neat! My first book was of course a romance...

it was 99 cents :) We'll see how good it is. ha! I am a sucker for romance anything so I bet it will like it.

Well, time to go lay on the couch with sister and mom and enjoy Anne with an E.

Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Jesus!

New Laptop!

First of all,

Merry Christmas!

I am up late typing on my new laptop!!! Ty and my parents went in together and got me a new computer! I haven't had one in about 3 years. I am so excited!! This computer had Windows 8 on it and I am so lost and confused on how to navigate it but I'm sure I'll catch on the more I play around with it. Anyone have Windows 8 already and want to share some tips? The main things I haven't figured out yet are how to "x" out of things (not internet sites but the apps, etc) and also, does this version of Windows not come with some sort of Word Processor? I know you have to purchase Microsoft Office but usually new computer come with Microsoft Works or something like that. If anyone has any tips, please share. :)

I hope you and your families had a wonderful Christmas Eve!! Ty and I traveled to 3 Christmases today!! Busy busy! But we love spending time with our families.

My sweet little cousin and I played around with the camera on the laptop this morning so I thought I'd share those pictures because I don't have any on the computer to share. I need to learn how to do iCloud, where it automatically downloads pictures from your phone on your computer. I think I'm behind on times here, but remember, I haven't had a computer in forever!!

This is sweet Mamie. She is my cousin's 7 year old little girl. Isn't she precious?

Can you tell we had fun with the new camera? And I know you have spotted my cousin Sterling in the background acting like a complete fool. :) Mamie thought he was hilarious!

I'm off to bed now. I'm afraid Santa won't be visiting unless I'm asleep ;)

I hope everyone has a VERY Merry Christmas and remembers the true meaning of the season!!

Happy Birthday Jesus!

Missing again

I've been MIA again! Oops :)

I have been SO busy!!! And quite sick this week. I NEVER go to the dr and have been twice in one week. I had pink eye (gross, I know) on Sunday and then thought I had strep on Thursday (thankfully I didn't, it was just a viral throat infection). So, I have spent about 4-5 hours in the dr's office this week.

Anyways, I am FINALLY on Christmas break as of 1pm today :). I got right on the road and was at mom & dad's by 4:40 this afternoon. Can't wait to spend time with friends and family this weekend!

This past Wednesday, we had our annual hayride through our town to look at Christmas lights. We had a trailer full on excited kids and we had a blast!

Here are the pictures we got from the hayride...

Hair Cut!

I chopped my hair off on Monday! It was so long and nappy and heavy and I was done with it. I swear It was slowing my running down. ha!

I haven't taken a front picture yet but my hair lady snapped these before and after pictures for me. I also took a picture of the first chop before she fixed it & layered it. There was so much hair on the floor in addition to the hair in the picture below! She was going to use the long pieces of hair to color & put on boards for her classes that she teaches at cosmetology school!!

I absolutely love it!

Uh-oh

Emma thought shredding two toilet paper rolls would be fun on black shag carpet. Then she thought it would be hysterical to run around the house with what was left of the toilet paper rolls while I chased her....

I was not amused.

Legends...

Ty's parents are legends in this town for their Christmas decorations. I wish you could all see them in person. It is quite a sight! We will be out & about and people will say something about their Christmas decorations. Several people on Halloween night commented on how much they love coming by to see their house over the holidays! I love it!

I am not sure when they started all of this but each year they add something. This year they added Cindy loo-hoo & the grinch! Some of the other characters/other things they have are Minnie & Micky, snoopy & Charlie Brown, 3 wise men, nutcrackers, penguins, an angel, Santa going in the chimney, nativity scene, Santa shop sign, a christmas countdown, a spinning box that says "merry christmas & happy new year" and Christmas train carrying presents. I'm sure I've left several things out.

I snapped a few pictures last week when they got everything set up. I wish you could see everything individually! They are all made out of wood & painted.

I just love watching car after car stop & admire their house over the holidays!!!

Babies

I am fully aware that I post about my sweet Emma and poppy at least once a week. But they seem to know how cute they are and pose for the camera at least once a day. Thought I'd take this post to update my 2 readers with pictures of our sweet babies!

I mean seriously, how cute are they?

5 years

I stared writing this post 2 weeks ago & never finished...oops.

5 years ago I "re-met" my dream guy after knowing him as a kid. I will never forget the moment I walked in his house and saw him standing in the kitchen. I would have paid money to see my face when I walked in because my jaw dropped. I was so mad at Dad for making us go over to his house because it was Iron Bowl weekend and I just wanted to get to Auburn as fast as I could. So glad he made us stop. :)

He was so quiet and I was too nervous to talk to him so my sister talked to him instead and we fought over him when we got in the car. :)

9 months later we finally started dating & the rest is history. I am so thankful God crossed our paths.

One of our very first pictures in the fall of '08 & thanksgiving '12

Latham Christmas Tree

Every year Ty's family goes to a Christmas tree farm to cut down their Christmas tree! For some reason, this was only my 2nd year going with them. I went a few years ago and went again this year. I love that they go cut down their own tree. We usually always had fake trees and when we had real ones, we got them at Home Depot :). I think it's a sweet tradition to go with the family and get one from a farm. I definitely think Ty and I will go get ours there every year after we get married.

Here are some pictures of our day last weekend going to get a tree! We had a blast!
