pumpkin patch!

We are taking our kindergarteners to the pumpkin patch tomorrow and I could not be more excited!!!

Most of my kids probably wouldn't get to do this if we didn't take them, which makes it all the more special! I cannot wait to see their faces when they see all the pumpkins!

Oh how I absolutely adore my job. :)

Field Trips are always stressful for the teachers, so prayers would be greatly appreciated ;)

Monday and Wal-Mart

Happy Monday Everyone! :)

Today was great - we had a teacher work day and I got SO much stuff done in my room. We should have one of those every week...Lord knows teachers need a day just to get their lives together. Ha!!

This morning during our Professional Development, these reps from Wal-Mart came to tell us that our school was chosen as their store's school of the year! They were going to give away 10 $100 giftcards and guess what? I won one of the giftcards!!!!!! I am beyond thrilled and it could not have come at a better time!!! I still have no gotten a paycheck and am COMPLETELY broke but Kindergarten calls and this will help SO much! I spend at least $20 a week on stuff for my classroom (if not more), so I am feeling very blessed to have this giftcard! I wish all my colleagues could have gotten one because I know they all need one too!
Thank you WAL-MART!!! You are wonderful!
Christen sent me this earlier and it said, "Happy Monday Aunt Kat"

I know I am biased, but isn't he just the cutest thing ever?

Hope everyone had a great Monday!

shoes

Ty got me new running shoes for my birthday and I haven't really ran in them since I got them. I joined the gym right after my last 5k and have just been working out abour 4 times a week and put running on the back burner until the weather cooled down. Now that it is pleasant outside, I have started running again and my shoes are freakin fabulous! They make a HUGE difference! My feet don't hurt, my ankles don't hurt, my legs don't hurt! yay!

The shoes are Asics so if you are looking for new running shoes, try them! I am not sure the exact type and I know that everyone needs a running shoe that fits their needs but these really are wonderful!

There is still a little over a week until my Walk for Alzheimer's so if you would like to donate, here is a link to my page:

our furry friend

Tuesday, we had a guest visit the classroom....

WOLF SPIDER

I got this picture off of the internet and it was the closest one to what we saw. This is a wolf spider and it is no ordinary spider....It was a small animal. HA!

It was the biggest spider I have ever seen with my own two eyes. My sweet babies did not even freak out, besides the little angel who saw it first and squealed! ha! Bless her little heart. I on the other hand slightly freaked out, shaking uncontrollably and thinking for the rest of the day that it was crawling up me! haha!

Our brave custodian came in and killed it, because there was no way I was try to kill that monster with my sandals on. I am normally not afraid of spiders, but like I said before, this was a small animal (ok, maybe I am exaggerating?). It had to of walked right through the door into my classroom because I really don't think it could have squeezed through a window, the wall, or a vent? It's too huge!

If it was a WOLF SPIDER, they are poisonous but usually not deadly. I am so thankful it did not bite one of my kids!!!
