Can we talk about Grey's yet?

Well, it's been 4 days since we lost our McDreamy. I couldn't talk about it until now but I think I'm ready.

First of all, yes I still watch Grey's and yes lots of other people do too! If you don't, well - you can just skip this post! No I don't agree with everything on the show but it's good tv and I'm never going to agree with everything on every good tv show.

Anyways, back to our McDreamy...

He is so beautiful, isn't he??

I have to share some funnies from Twitter and Instagram before we go deep - so, here you go - laugh (or cry) all you want...

Ugh, I just can't get over it. Their love story was so beautiful!!!!

But for real. I was a basketcase.

Oh Shonda, you're a mean girl!

We all need a day (or 10) to grieve Mcdreamy, right?

But seriously, how will the show go on?

Bahahaha oh mcdreamy AND mcsteamy...what hunks!

Someone pass the wine.

My mom said at dinner Friday night "but they're fake Kathleen..." - NO MOM!!!! They're real!!!!!

Yes, I am!

Anyone else???

Ok, ok, down to the nitty gritty.

That's all I want to know. Just why?? He just signed a 2 year contract. Why did you kill him off Shonda?? Every article I read someone from the show said "oh, it was the naturally organic thing to do, the show was just heading to that direction".

What the what? I'm sorry, was I watching the same show you were? Because last I remember, Derek realized how bad he wanted to be with Meredith, even if it meant giving up the job in DC. Um, how did that mean the next step was him DYING???

I read a great article that stated why this would never be ok with longtime Grey's fans and it was perfect. The reason we were all shocked and heartbroken (more than when any of the other main characters left) was because the whole show is about Meredith surviving, no matter what trials she goes through. And how will Meredith have a happy ending of Derek is gone? She won't. And they will never have a happy ending. They didn't even get to say goodbye to each other. For us, that was cruel. And I know every movie and TV show doesn't end happily but I really thought we as viewers deserved SOMETHING, ANYTHING, better than that.

I am very interested to see what comes of the show now. Obviously I will keep watching but I sincerely think it will never be the same.

However, I absolutely LOVED Ellen Pompeo's tweet today...

How fabulous is she?

So what do yall think?? Will you still watch?

Show & Tell Tuesday's: Names!

I'm linking up with Andrea again today for Show & Tell Tuesdays!

Today we are talking about how you named your kids, pets, or how you got your name!

Because it's just me & the hubby for now, I thought I'd talk about my name & some of our top names for our future little ones! I absolutely love talking baby names and it's funny how much Ty gets into it too. Some of my favorite texts from him are the ones where he shares a new name with me on a random Tuesday when we weren't talking about baby names. It's cute to see guys thinking about baby names, am I right?

So first, let's start with me! Funny that this week we are talking about names because I JUST had a fit to Ty about the people at our pizza place never getting my name right. Ty wondered why it bothered me so much to which I replied that my name has always been butchered. And it's super annoying.

Anyways, my name (before I got married) was Kathleen Elizabeth Alfano. My daddy named me and my name actually kind of changed right before I was born. They had my name picked out but were going to call me "Katie" after my Meme. For some reason on the way to the hospital my dad told my mom that he wanted me to be called Kathleen and not Katie...well ok then! I'm not sure where they got Elizabeth from but I've always loved it. I do however remember thinking in elementary school that there was no way I'd ever learn how to spell my whole name. That's a lot of letters!!!!! Luckily, I finally learned. :)

Here's me and my daddy on my wedding day!

And here are my adorable parents!

So am I the only woman who thinks it's super weird that when you get married it's like your middle name never exsisted?? I adore my middle name and I feel so weird never acknowledging it anymore. It's like I've abandoned my middle name. It actually makes me sad. Ha! Surely I'm not the only one who has felt this way?

Or maybe I'm just weird.

Anyways, I love how my name is not that common and I rarely meet anyone with the same name. I also get a lot of "oh that's a pretty name" and it is! However, it's too close to Katherine and I've been called Katherine my entire life. And now as a first grade teacher who teaches phonics, it really makes no sense. I always tell kids not to read the first few letters but the whole word and that's what I always want to tell people who say Katherine - umm, I'm sorry, do you see Ernie at the end of my name??? NO!

The pizza place I talked about earlier always calls me Kathlin - yet when I correct them (every time), they must not change it in the computer because they continue to say Kathlin. Oh my. Biggest pet peeve ever.

My favorite spellings of my name consist of Kathline, Kathlene, Kathlin, Kathlen, & Cathleen. The Starbucks chick always rocks at the misspellings too.

So, what has this taught me? I will name my kid something that hopefully will never be misunderstood as another name. Ty and I also want to use the most common spelling of whatever name we pick out and not mix up letters or anything. I think it's super cute when people do that, I just have lived it for too long and I don't want to do it with my kids names.

So now for our top baby names!!! Ty is very particular about boy names - they need to be one syllable! Don't ask me why...Ha! We only have 1 boy name with 2 syllables.

I starred my favorites on both lists!

For boys:

For boy middle names I would love to use my dads middle name (Michael) and/or Ty's dad's name (William)!

For Girls: (I'm all about some boy names for girls - yes I know, they may be mistaken for girls on the first day of school...ok ok, carry on)
Blake (my uncle stu's middle name - he passed away in 2008)

Our first girl's middle name will be Elizabeth! I have to use it, then I won't feel so bad abandoning it when I got married...(insert funny face emoji)

So what names do you like?? Link up with Andrea!

Friday Favorites

Friday again? I'll take it!!!

Haha, I couldn't resist!

I'm linking up with some fun bloggers today for Friday Favorites!!

1. Kenny Chesney

And Jake Owen (have you seen his new hair cut?), and Chase Rice!!!

Mom took me to the Kenny concert last night for a mother/daughter date night and we had the best time!!! This was my 5th time seeing Kenny (yes, we're on a first name basis) in concert and he just gets better and better. I saw him in college at a bar and it was so amazing being so close! I swore I'd never see him in a big arena again because it was so amazing in that bar but when mom asked me if I wanted to go I couldn't resist! I sure was tired today at school but it was so worth it. :)

2. Puppy Emma Pictures

I am aware I just blogged lots of Emma as a puppy pictures but my gosh. That face. I could eat her up! This week marks 3 years since we brought her home so my Timehope was flooded with pictures of her as a little baby and I just couldn't stop looking at them!

Here she was the other afternoon being nosy and spying on people in the parking lot! ;)

3. This Book

I watch Ree's show on Food Network all the time so I decided to pick up this book out over Spring Break & I have loved it! It's all about how she met and fell in love with her husband and it's so sweet! If you love Ree like I do, I highly recommend this book if you're a sucker for a good love story (like me!).

4. Our Easter Fun

We went to church, had lunch with my family, watched lots of babies find Easter eggs, had dessert with Ty's family, and the Easter bunny even made a stop at Ty's parents' house and left us some goodies!

5. Daily Charlie Grace pictures

When your best friend lives thousands of miles away & you can kiss her baby, you rely on daily pictures and FaceTime dates. Molly sent me this one this morning and I about died. Is she not the cutest thing ever?

And just because she's so darn cute, here she was on Easter!

6. My new pink anchor earrings from ALB

These studs were only $6.50 and I love love love them!!! So cute for spring & summer!

I hope you have had a wonderful week and have a restful weekend! We don't have much on the calendar this weekend and that's how I like it! :)

Go link up your Friday favorites too!

Show & Tell Tuesday's - Favorite Vacation

Today I'm linking up with Andrea from momfessionals to share about my favorite vacation!!

Clearly we all know THIS was my favorite vacation because I just blogged about it..

Our honeymoon in the Keys!!! However, since I literally just blogged about it back in the Fall, I decided to pick my 2nd favorite vacation and that led me back 10 years ago on my high school senior spring break!

Let me start by saying I am totally freaked out that my 10 year reunion is quickly approaching. Just today, plans were made for our reunion and my mind was wandering back all day. How on earth have I been out of high school TEN YEARS? My mind cannot grasp it. College was my favorite but I absolutely loved high school too! A time when my biggest focus was cheering at the Varsity Football Game on Friday night or the cheerleading competition on Sunday. Those were the days....

This is me & my bestie Melissa on Senior night!

Here is me and my friend Alyse before a competition my senior year!

Ten years, where has the time gone??

Ok, back to the vacation - sorry I got sidetracked. I really just can't believe it. I am totally not old enough to attend a high school reunion, right?

So - where were we? Oh yes. Senior year spring break! My friend Melissa's parents took us (me, Melissa, and Jessica) on a cruise!

We sailed for 7 days and stopped in Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Belize! We were supposed to make a stop in Costa Maya but the tide was too high or something so we spent 3 days at sea instead of 2.

Cruises are so much fun because you can literally do whatever you want, whenever you want. Including eat. And this girl loves to eat! I mean there were buffets open at all hours of the day. And we took advantage.

Oh hey, babes. Or should I say babies??

We laid in the sun, played games, went to the "teen clubs" (<----hahaha), saw shows, went to a "robe party", and saw some beautiful places!

Don't ask me what a "robe party" is. We didn't know, but we went with it!

I think this was a ferry ride we took when we got to the Cayman Islands!

Cozumel was my favorite! Melissa's dad had a friend who had a timeshare in Cozumel so we hit up his house and it was so gorgeous! He had an infinity pool that looked right over the ocean! Prettiest water I had ever seen!

I think the above picture was from Cozumel as well!

When we stopped in Belize, we were told that the locals weren't very nice so we decided to do an excursion instead of mingle with the locals. We went cave tubing and it was so neat! Usually when I tell people that they look at me super weird. Because it totally is super weird. We literally were in black tubes in the water floating through caves. Scary? Um, yes. We saw lots of bats & other creatures!

We bought these awesome shirts in Belize that said "you better Belize it!" I still have that shirt tucked away somewhere. ;)

It was such a fabulous vacation! I always tell people who are contemplating going on a cruise to DO IT because it was so fun!

I think it was also my favorite because I was with my 2 very best friends from high school and it was kind of like our last hoo-rah!! I am so blessed by them and am so glad we have stayed so close. We just had a spend the night party last week over spring break and it was the best. There's just something different about your high school besties. :)

Now go link up and tell us about your favorite vacation!
