Flapjack 5k

I ran the Flapjack 5k this morning for Ty's church and did it in 29:01! I am super pumped about that time! This is my 4th 5k and my second time in under 30 min! I ran in the same race last year and it was the same flat course (yippee!). I had a blast and am so glad I ran it in under 30. The church served flapjacks after the race, which I inhaled in about 2 minutes. It doesn't sound appetizing right after you run but I didn't care, it was carbs to refuel!

I haven't slept in past 6 in 2 weeks so after the race, I took a nice long nap, which was much needed!!!

I think I may have become addicted to running in races. I already found a 10k on May 5th that i want to run in here in town. And I just signed up for the color run (have y'all heard of these? Looks like so much fun), which is a 5k on September 3rd. If I do the one in
May, i might make it a goal to run in one race a month...10k or 5k.

I have thought about training for a half marathon but I think for now I need to run a few more 10Ks first. We will see where that takes me! :)

Meet Emma!!!

We FINALLY got our puppy!!! And she is just about the cutest thing ever! I am already so in love!!!

10k!!

I did it! I ran my first 10k in 1:02:37!! I am very pleased with my time! My goal for my next one is under 60 minutes! The course was very hilly which I was NOT prepared for. I never run hills do that was a challenge. There was one huge one and I literally thought I was going to have to stop after because I couldn't catch my breath....but I didn't! My best friend, Melissa, came over from GA and ran it with me! I couldn't have done it alone!!! I am so proud of us for pushing ourselves and doing this! It was so fun and makes me want to do more! We shall see where my running journey takes me next... :)

My mom and dad came from GA to be there Saturday morning for the race, which was so sweet of them. Ty and his sister & mom and dad also came to watch! We actually ran right by Ty's house so they were all in the front yard cheering us on & then went to meet us at the finish line!

I drank a HUGE thing of water on Friday and I could totally tell that it helped me. I never once felt dehydrated!!! It was a great race!!! Can't wait to do another one!

5 miles

Just ran 5 miles!!! Today was my last long run before my 10k next Saturday!! Let's hope I can knock out an extra 1.2 miles next Saturday! I am following a training program and it jumps from 5 to 6.2 on race day so I hope I'll be ok. :)

I seriously cannot believe I have made it this far! When I started, I really thought I'd make up some excuse and not finish the training program. I can't believe my race is next week! I can't wait!

More puppy pictures!

Ok so I know y'all are probably sick of puppy pictures but get used to it!

We got some updated pictures of the puppies yesterday! They have gotten so big since we saw them just 2 weeks ago! I am so excited to bring our Emma home next Saturday!!!

There is one picture of the whole litter, 2 of girl one, one of girl 2 (who is a CHUNK!!!!) and one of girl 3 (who has a darker color, which I love!!!!).

This week...

I've been cooking and taking care of granddaddys dog, scooter! He has been in the hospital but came home today! Scooter loves when aunt Kat is in charge!

Totally Random!

Get ready, I'm about to unload my brain....

1. I ran 4.5 miles yesterday! I am so close to my 10k! It is in 12 days!

2. Speaking of 12 days, only 12 more days til we get our sweet puppy!

3. Today we had a teacher workday, which if you ask me, is a necessity after a break. Not to mention, we should have one at least every 2 weeks, just to get our life together. I got SO much done today. I can only imagine the things I would get done if I had those days more often!

4. My babies come back to school tomorrow and I can honestly say I missed them! Oh how I love love LOVE my job!!!

5. Say a quick prayer for my sweet Granddaddy (the one who just lost his wife), he is in the hospital and has been since Friday. I think he will get to come home tomorrow!

7. I went home the last few days of Spring Break and got to see my 2 best friends from high school. They complete me and make my heart smile. There is nothing quite like childhood/high school friends. They know you and love you on such a different level than anyone else. I am so blessed to have such great friends.

8. Leaving you with a picture from my sweet friend Wrenn's wedding. I have known Wrenn since we were in Preschool. She is one of my oldest and dearest friends! Her new hubby is so sweet and I LOVE them together!! They are TOO CUTE!!! Her wedding was in Athens, GA - need I say more? SO FUN!!!!!!
