Sorry its been so long, I feel like I've been going ninety to nothing!
This post will be random...stay with me.
I have been out of my classroom alot lately for meetings, professional development, and umm well, a personal day.... so the past few weeks have been crazy at school. Yesterday I had to step out for like 5 minutes and one of my little boys almost flipped out. "Where are you going where are you going!!!!!!????"
Bless him. I thought he was going to attach to my leg and come to my meeting with me.
I am trying to get them back on our normal schedule but the book fair this week hasn't help either. And oh Grandparents Day is tomorrow as well - maybe next week we can get back to normal? Let's hope!!
I started my 1/2 marathon training last week. It has gone pretty good so far. I am LOVING running in this weather! Beautiful! Our first "getting ready race" is in about 6 weeks and it is a 10k!
Last week/weekend my mom's boss offered us his lakehouse on Lake Burton in the North Georgia Mountains. My parents spent most of the week there and Ty, Emma, and I headed up on Thursday. It was about a 4 hour drive but it turned into a 5 hour drive with a dinner/gas/Emma potty break, getting pulled over by a cop (no ticket for going 63 in a 45, whew. ps-Emma totally growled multiple times at the cop...ha!), and getting lost at the very end of the trip. We finally arrived late Thursday night and relaxed for the next 3 straight days with my entire family and Ty's parents.
Lake Burton is absolutely beautiful. The houses are MANSIONS! I don't think we could even afford a boat house on that lake! One of Nick Saban's houses on that lake is on sale for $10.5 million - any takers???
The Blue Ridge Mountains as the backdrop put the lake on a totally different level than most lakes. STUNNING!
The house was absolutely beautiful - an all wooden cabin. We had access to their pontoon AND ski boat, which we took full advantage of! Friday I face planted while wake-boarding which resulted in my mouth gushing blood & my dad diving in to "save" me. I guess you're never to old for your daddy to dive in fully clothed to make sure his little girl is ok. :) Needless to say, I had a migraine for the rest of the trip from the fall and I was seeing stars everytime I stood up but I tried not to let it damper the pure relaxation that was taking place...
Friday was Anna's birthday so we made her a big birthday feast complete with steaks, corn, baked potatoes and brownies. And then we of course had to make smores in the big fire pit outside. It was fun watching the kids get so excited about making "snores"!
Saturday night we ate at a cool place right on the lake where Emma got to sit with us AND we got to watch the BAMA game!! Talk about living the dream...
We had such a great time and did NOT want to leave on Sunday.....but we had to come back to reality sometime.
I will do a post later with all our pictures!! The place was absolutely beautiful!
