my 5k!
Yesterday morning I ran in the Live Life 5k in Trussville (Ty's hometown). The proceeds were donated to Trussville City Schools Special Ed Program (which was perfect!). I was super nervous about running in it because I haven't been great at running every other day like I used to. I was hoping to run it in 30-35 minutes. The night before, Casey drove me around to show me exactly what my route would be. I am so glad we did that just so I would know where I was on the course while I was running. Casey walked me over to the starting line Saturday morning to watch me start. We actually ran by Ty's house twice during the race. The second time I passed his house, he and Casey and his mom were out in the front yard taking pictures! :) And when I crossed the finish line, they were there taking more pictures. I am so lucky and blessed to have such great people in my life! It might not seem like a big deal to some people but for me, this was a huge accomplishment! I have NEVER been a runner so to be able to run 3 miles without stopping is huge for me! I am happy to say that I ran it in 28 minutes and 30 seconds!!! I was so proud of myself! The guy that won ran it in 18 minutes! How crazy is that?? As soon as I can upload pictures I will I promise! And so many people have told me that running races are addicting and I must say they are right. My adrenaline was pumping the whole race! And it was a wonderful feeling to cross the finish line not to mention crossing it seeing 28:30 on the huge clock! :) Anyways, I will post pictures later....as for now, I'm just gonna give myself a pat on the back for achieving a goal! ;)
