Summer Happenings

Happy Tuesday! Thought I'd pop in today and update on our summer so far! I am thoroughly enjoying lounging around, cleaning, sitting outside, going to the pool, & hanging out with Emma! I've had 2 days of professional development already that wasn't too bad (other than sitting in a middle school desk for 8 hours while 8 months pregnant), but haven't worked on my maternity leave plans at all (YIKES!) so I need to get on that asap!!!

Here's what we've been up to this summer....

Over Memorial Day, we had my nieces and nephews while my sister and BIL went out of town on a trip so we made the most of the beautiful weather and took them to Ty's Aunt & Uncle's pool! We had the best weekend!

---------------------------------------------------

The first full week of summer I enjoyed an AMAZING prenatal massage followed by some girl talk and snuggles with little Miss Mabry!

------------------------------------------------------------------

So back in December I had a cookie swap at my house and my cousin Emily brought this yummy chocolate mint cookies to share. Well, Ty got home and taste tested and analyzed every cookie and that was his favorite by far. He has been talking about them for 6 months straight so I finally made some for him a few weeks ago! Needless to say, I had big shoes to fill but he liked them! Score!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

A few weeks back, we snuck away for a weekend at the beach with my parents and sister and BIL since my Dr. didn't like the idea of me going to the beach for a week when I was further along like we had originally planned. It wasn't a long trip but it was great! It rained both mornings we were there but it cleared up by the afternoon and we enjoyed some good beach time and some yummy seafood!

Last trip as #lathampartyof2

My mom snapped this picture when we were cooling off in the ocean. I love it!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I have laid out on our back deck a few times this summer and this girl loves to be out there with me but HAS to find shade somewhere. On this day, she chose underneath daddy's truck! :)

 -------------------------------------------------------------

When we aren't at the beach or the pool, we have been enjoying alot of this.....

And for the record, Emma is oblivious to the belly. She does smell it sometimes (I wonder if it smells different??), but as far as noticing there is a giant belly on me, she has no clue. She still steps on it and lays her head on it, etc. :)

------------------------------------------------------

Last weekend I helped throw my sweet cousin Karlie a baby shower and it was so fun! Karlie and her husband are waiting to find out the sex of the baby so we don't know what that sweet ittle one is yet but I cannot wait to fund out and snuggle him/her! She is due just a month after me and ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!! We got engaged 5 days apart, married 5 months apart, and now our little ones will be 4 weeks apart!

 ----------------------------------------------------------

Bible study and Italian ice is how we do bible study in the summer!!! #everypregnantgirlsdream

------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday, we celebrated my nieces' birthdays at the splash pad! Kate turned 4 at the end of May and Aubrey turned 7 on Sunday! I can't believe how big they are getting!

So I am sharing these next 2 pictures because sometimes being 4 years old is tough when you're one of the birthday girls and your aunt wants a picture, but please don't mind my pregnant large and in charge face and giant almost-9-months-pregnant-belly. #yikes

Poor Kate. #shejustcant

So glad this little dude got to come to AL for the weekend and celebrate with us!!!

That catches us all up! Hopefully I will get the pregnancy update done for weeks 33-34 this week!!! Only about 5 weeks to go til we meet our little man!!!

Weeks 30-32

Happy Friday!! We are headed to the beach today for the weekend (YAYYY!!!) but I wanted to pop in and do a pregnancy update! I am 32 weeks this week but I need to back up to week 30!

How Far Along:
Week 30: 5/17 - 5/23

30 weeks, 1 day {5.18.16}

Week 31: 5/24 - 5/30
31 weeks, 1 day {5.25.16}

Week 32: 5/31 - 6/7
32 weeks {5.31.16}

Size of Baby:
Week 30: 15.7 inches, 2.9 lbs, baby is the size of a cabbage
Week 31: 16.2 inches, 3.3 lbs, baby is the size of a broccoli stalk
Week 32: 16.7 inches, 3.8 lbs, baby is the size of a bok choy (I'm sorry, what? what on earth is that??)

We saw the biggest difference in my belly between week 30 & 31! Baby boy must have gone through a growth spurt! Sometimes I look at my belly and think it hasn't grown in weeks but then I look at these pictures and it clearly grows. :)

Don't you love how I'm wearing the exact same outfit in these pictures? HA!!!! #maternitywardrobeprobs

Maternity Clothes:
Yes, yes, and yes. All the time. And hello Ty's shirts. And why don't they make maternity nike shorts. It's all I want to live in right now (HEYYYY SUMMERTIME), but they are getting so uncomfortable!

Gender: Baby boy! As soon as I get some more things hung on the wall and get some curtains I will share his nursery! It's coming along!

Movement: Still rolling all around all the time and getting the hiccups about once a day! :) He is still sitting SO low.

Sleep: I've been having a hard time sleeping lately. I am so glad its summer now so I don't have to be up at a certain time if I didn't get enough sleep! I flip from side to side all night long because my legs start hurting. I'm also SO hot all the time and usually don't sleep with any covers on!

What I miss: wine, not waddling (haaaaaaaa)

Cravings: pickles, pickles, pickles, and Gatorade

Symptoms: Acne is still out of control, Charlie horses returned around week 30 & I had 2 of the worst ones I've ever had before - one lasted several minutes and one was like 3 right in a row and it ended in lots of tears!

Best Moment of the Week:
Week 30 - my school baby shower (love my sweet coworkers!)
Week 31 - my niece Aubrey was over and he was moving all around my belly so I told Aubrey to put her hand on my belly and he kicked her. Her eyes lit up and it was the sweetest moment! I can't wait til he is here and gets to play with his cousins!

What I'm looking forward to:
Seeing who he looks like! :)

My friend Amanda and I are 2 weeks apart and we showed up twice in one week to work wearing the exact same thing. Can't wait til these two sweet babies meet!

Week 30 highlight - Amanda and I (and our sweet friend April pointing) at the Birmingham Barons Game with our bellies. :)

Week 31 highlight - baby boy and sweet Ruth Ann (my friend Rachel's little girl) hanging out. :)

Little Man's Baby Shower

Back at the end of April, my sweet friends and family threw me the most perfect baby shower. They went above and beyond and made the day so special. They really did such an awesome job with all the little details.

It blew my mind how many diapers were in this diaper cake. I felt so thankful and blessed after I opened all of them. There were tons!

They served the most yummy brunch food ever. I adore brunch food and it was all SO GOOD!

They did a deer theme to match my vision for the nursery and it was all so perfect!

This precious banner landed itself as décor in the nursery, stay tuned!

The sweet little favors. The cookies were so good!

My sweet friend Lauren and her mom (pictured below) came from Huntsville to spend the day celebrating with us. Lauren and I were roomies all four years at Alabama!

My sweet friend Rachel lives down the street from me and was one of the wonderful hostesses. She was 37 weeks pregnant here! Her sweet baby girl was born just 2 weeks later!

Allison lives in GA now and made the over 4 hour drive to come help host the shower. She is so special to me and I miss seeing her sweet face everyday.

Me and mama!!

Wrenn drove from GA to surprise me at my baby shower! She did the same thing at my wedding tea a few years back. When you send invites to friends out of town, you completely understand that it is hard for them to make it, which is why it is so special to me that Wrenn took the time out of her day to drive 2.5 hours to be there with us that day. Wrenn and I have been friends since we were 4, she is so special to me!

Aren't my sissies pretty? I can't wait til they become Aunts to our little guy!

Here is Rachel and I again. :) We have been talking about this bump picture since November when Ty and I found out we were pregnant (Rachel and her husband Chase found out in September). Ty and Chase grew up together and we are so excited to raise our babies together!

My sweet bestie Melissa did all the adorable decorations and I know she spent so much time and effort making everything perfect for the shower. Our little man can't wait to meet his aunite Melissa!

I did a horrible job of getting pictures with everyone and sadly ended the day without a picture with my sweet hostesses!

I gave my sweet hostesses a little bag of relaxation goodies. I included some bath salt, a loofa, a wine glass, and a mini wine bottle. My friend Lauren's sister, Rachel, (who always makes my Christmas cards and makes invites for me when I am hosting showers) made these adorable little tags for the wine bottles. Some of them said "the best cousins get promoted to auntie", some said "the best friends get promoted to auntie", and for Ty's sister, Casey, I had hers say "the best sisters get promoted to auntie". I just love how these turned out and I hope my sweet hostesses enjoyed some relaxation after all the love and time they put into my shower.

Ty and I are so thankful to everyone who came to celebrate this special time in our life!

Pregnancy Update Weeks 30-31 coming soon! :)
